Why we should pay attention to SVG?

  • SVG is a free format
  • SVG is readable(text-based format)
  • SVG doesn't(or won't) require the use of a plugin
  • Problems:
    • Adobe drops support for SVG (http://www.adobe.com/svg/eol.html) which renders old apps not usable.
    • RAND licensing is affecting SVG.
